Download Stops

Here are some of the top reasons your download may be stopping:

  1. Internet connection lost - Your download will fail if you loose your connection for any amount of time - even a second.
  2. Server connection lost - If the connection between the server and your computer is lost, the download to fail.
  3. Connection times out - If your Internet connection is slow or the Internet is slow, this will cause the server to time out if the file is taking too long to download.

Here are some potential solutions:

  1. Try to download at a later time when the Internet isn't so busy.
  2. If this is a common problem you experience when downloading files, you may want to consider using a download manager. A download manager will monitor, and if required, resume a download where it stops. There are many free download managers available on the Internet. Visit and search for 'free download manager.'
  3. If the above options don't take care of the problem, and you have a dial up connection, you may want to consider upgrading to a broadband connection.
  4. If all else fails, you may want to consider having someone you know with a fast Internet connection download the files and place them on a disk for you.
